Overcome Depression and Thrive

Learn strategies in both BODY and MIND to unlock your wellness potential.

The first step in overcoming depression is being at that point when you want to make change.

But this often leads to a rather large PROBLEM…

 

You know you need help, so you seek help from your GP / Doctor, and end up with a prescription for Antidepressants to try and solve the problem.

 

After working with hundreds and hundreds of people who have been prescribed antidepressants for depression, they often tell me that they either:

  • Worked a little bit but still don't feel quite right

  • Worked for a while but have stopped working now

  • Have made things worse (side effects)

  • Did not work at all

Very rarely do I ever hear that they made life better and solved problems, and I’ve never heard that they resolved what was going on that led to the depression. 

 

I have been told that they have been a lifesaver and very helpful for a small period of time. 

 

As you probably know: they take a long time to start working, they are very hard to come off, and they don't deal with the underlying cause - just mask the symptom.

 

Many people have told me they want a more holistic or natural approach but nothing is being offered - they’re told to do talking therapy (which they’ve found to not be helpful).

We offer an alternative, holistic, DRUG FREE approach - that is very effective at helping people. 

Of course, no one approach works for everyone and we don’t take on all clients with Clinical Depression, but we are able to assess pretty easily (often with a phone call) if we can help you.

Let me explain a little bit about our approach - how we work with people, and who is likely to respond well to care.

If you have more questions, we offer everyone the opportunity to get on the phone and talk with me about our approach. We only take on clients we are confident we can help.

Sadly, our approach - even though it has shown to be effective - is not Government funded and does take some time, so it's not suitable for everyone. Saying this, we have made it affordable and it works out at about the same price as seeing a psychologist.

The heart of Inspiring Wellness is being a "wellness" clinic.

 

The techniques we have, have been shown to increase people's self-reported quality of life.

 

There are many things you can learn and do to improve the way you feel and change the way you interact with the world in a more positive, uplifting way.

 

I have helped many people who suffered from depression break out of these 'cycles' and pits.

"Our daughter went through a really bad time when she was 10 years old - she became increasingly withdrawn, sad and anxious - she was unable to go to school and unable to sleep at night. It was the most heartbreaking thing as a parent.

Body and Mind

We teach you the strategies that you need to break out of depression and learn how to love life again.

 

This is a body-based and mindset approach that takes around 3 - 6 months (everyone is different and takes a different amount of time, depending on many factors).

 

If we focus on what is not working in life, we will not feel good. This creates a certain type of chemistry in our body which affects our mood.

 

Often the thought process is unconscious and this thought process is triggered by the body being in a certain stuck or depressed state. If this is a habit of thought or behaviour and happens a lot, it will affect all parts of life.

 

By working on a new way of thinking (growth mindset) and working on taking your body out of stress response / lowered energy response, and into growth physiology, you will shift the way you feel.

Where does depression come from?

Most depression comes about as the body's adaptive response to what is happening around them or within them.

 

Often, people think of depression as something that’s happening to them and that it’s a chemical imbalance, but this way of thinking has recently been scientifically disproved. Sadly, this is still a commonly held view. Please click here to read more.   

 

Very rarely does depression come out of a vacuum (although it can feel like it). 

 

Often, there is a history of stress and trauma that has not been processed in a constructive way. 

 

I have never worked with anyone with depression who knew how to shift their mindset and body into a growth physiology and mindset - which is exactly what you need to move out of depression. 

 

Once you learn this, you will be much happier and find dealing with life events and situations so much easier. You will understand how to motivate yourself more and be better able to feel a wider range of emotions - especially the more enjoyable ones.
